Calories in Wine
Ever wonder how many calories there are in a glass of wine? Many, especially those trying to lose a little weight, have probably wondered. Unlike lite beer, wine bottles typically do not carry calorie information.
Fortunately, the USDA National Nutrient Database can be used to find out the calorie content, and other nutrition information, for wine. Use the search term "wine". Calories are listed as "energy" with a scale of kcal.
The calorie content does vary depending on whether the wine is red or white, and what varietal it is, as well as if it is a late harvest or desert wine. The following chart saves you the trouble of having to look up each individual wine. The calorie counts are for a 5 ounce glass of wine.
