Some Winery Tasting Rooms In Unexpected Places

The May 2008 issue of the Wine Enthusiast has an interesting article entitled “America’s Best Tasting Rooms” covering winery tasting room that they felt to be notable. As one might expect, most of the best were in California with a few in California’s cousins to the north (Oregon and Washington). Surprisingly, though, there were more than a few in places that you would not expect, including:

• North Carolina: Childress Vineyards in Lexington
• Pennsylvania:

• Texas:
  • Homestead Winery in Denison
  • Mandola Estate Winery in Driftwood
