From Bas Armagnac comes another spirits best buy. I purchased the Marie Duffau Napoleon Bas Armagnac for $29.95 as a replacement for my long time favorite Chalfonte Cognac which I cannot seem to find any more.
Well fret not, the Marie Duffau is a more than adequate replacement. It is a smooth Armagnac with caramel notes on the nose and a warm gentle mouth feel – not the hot alcoholic feel of many Cognacs.
This one is a keeper and I will be purchasing again. I would compare this to VSOP and XO Cognac – and it’s only $29.95.
What’s not to love about Armagnac… It’s less expensive and it usually tastes better…
