Most people look forward to drinking a “recommended” wine. This is especially true when the wine costs only $5.99 a bottle. I think that we all get a little thril out of potentially discovering a “best buy” wine.
This is how I approached the 2007 Chalk Creek Alexander Valley Gewurztraminer – with much anticipation. Unfortunately the wine let me down. I found the acidity and fruit to be out of balance – too much acidity and not enough fruit. The wine left a bitter aftertaste in my mouth as well.
I should, however, provide a caveat. The two other people drinking the wine with me liked it. They did not rave, but both said that they liked it.
So this may just be a wine that just did not agree with me. At $5.99, it might be best to grab a bottle to form your own opinion…

I know how your feel. I hate it when I think I’m finding a good deal and it turns out to be a dud…
