How’s this one for all of the drinkers of fancy, vintage dated, cork-finished, bottled wine? In the Merlot class of the 2009 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, best of class was won by a 3 liter non-vintage box wine. Yes, you read correctly. Corbett Canyon Merlot, at $10 for a 3 liter box, took top honors in the Merlot up to $14.99 category along with the 2007 Rainbow Merlot at $14.99 a bottle (750ml).
